2007 Liberty Suppressors Final Rimfire Match
The final match began with a shooters meeting/safety briefing as usual, then we went over the
course of fire for the first stage which went as follows.

Stage One - Seated Madness
The shooter sits in an armchair forcing a shooting position that requires the shooter to look
across his right shoulder at the targets.  The forces a left handed shooting position.  Some
people could contort (B. Rann) their body around to be able to shoot right handed, there was
5 stationary silhouettes, 2 moving silhouettes, 3 no-shoots and a clock steel in the back of the
range. Upon command the shooter engages the targets in any order he chooses, then shoots
the clock steel in the back to stop the clock, at his point, the shooter unloads and makes his
weapon safe and everybody goes down range to score targets.  Scoring info will be described
later. Unfortunately, I didn't get a single image of this stage......

Stage Two - Through the woods to Grandma's house we go......
This stage presented the shooter with shooting through barriers.  The first position placed the
shooter some 10 feet behind the barricade (pallet) and forced the shooter to shoot through
the pallet openings to successfully engage the targets.  Then after the shooter neutralized two
steel and two paper targets, they had to move to the 2nd shooting position and engage a
paper silhouette at 35 yards down a steep grade and partially concealed by vegetation. Once
this was done, the shooter moved to the final barricade and engaged two paper and finally two
steel [plates to stop the clock. I didn't get any pictures of this stage either......

Stage Three - Un-lucky draw

The shooter draw four cards one of each has a color on it and a shooting position as well,
there were four colors and four shooting positions (standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone)
some people have better luck than others at this stage when it comes to drawing the cards.

Most people did fair with the exception of J. Price who almost cleaned it with only a single miss
out of 16 rounds fired!! Most of which was from the standing position!!  Another person of
interest, making his first appearance, was B. Higdon who did very well with his newest creation
(Ruger 10-22 with a GM match barrel, Hogue overmolded stock, and several upgrades in the
trigger group courtesy of the "Tips and Tricks" section on Rimfirecentral.com This gun worked
very well once he got some match ammo from John to use in it!! It sure liked the Wolf Match......
Here is a picture of Brian working on the plates in stage three along with Teresa the score
keeper.....
The next stage was the 10 meter targets where we shoot at 10 meter small bore targets for score, this target gets a two
minute time limit to put 10 rounds down range for score. Then we all load up 10 more rounds and fire 10 rounds in 3
seconds at a diamond target that is 8 inches tall by 4 inches wide.  The idea here is to see how many rounds you can
get into the diamond in 3 seconds and it is a lot of fun!!! Here are three shooters lined up about to open fire on the
diamonds......
After the 10 meter stage, we move back to the 100 yard line for some longer range action.  At this postion we usually
just put three rounds down range at a can softdrink, this would norally give you 30 seconds off of your score for a hit,
but this match I added another diamond target, this time it was aproxiamtly 15" tall and 8 inches wide and any hits
inside of the black diamond were worth 5 seconds off of your score per hit. This added the bonus of letting the shooter
actually know where hits rounds were going at 100 yards so he can better work on the can drink. Several people made
contact with the drink on this day. To give you an idea of what the iron sight people had to deal with, here is Brian
Rann with his lever gun shooting in the iron sight class. The target he is aiming at, is between the two white paper
targets, without some help from spotters you almost couldn't see the can! The brown square on the leftside of the left
target is where the diamond is at.  Brian got the can on the second shot.........
After the match we grilled hot dogs and enjoyed each others company for a little while then we had our drawing for the
door prizes. There was a good bit of goodies on the table this time from Christie & Christie 10-22 accessories like
Oversized bolt handles, automatic bolt hold open devices, mag release, they also had a complete pack of these
accessories as well. Be sure to look at their website or give them a call next time you need something for your 10-22,
by the way, they make an awesome stock for the 10-22, I got to handle one of them personally at KCR last October
and it was a very nice piece of hardware.

There was also some nice prizes from Shooter Discount Inc as well on the table.  They had donated a Blue Book of
Gun Values and a very nice Otis cleaning kit to the table.  They also worked out a trade with the grand prize winner to
get him the 10-22 he has always been wanting. More on that in a minute.

The table also had a second suppressor on it this time from yours truly, a Sparrow thread mount suppressor!! Kevin
Ellis won this suppressor and then by the luck of the draw, he won the Grand Prize of a Sparrowhawk as well!!!!
Here is a picture of the winner holding his winnings......
Us (Liberty Suppressors, Kevin, and Shooters Discount Inc teamed up to work out a trade to get Kevin the gun he has
always wanted by working out a trade with his new suppressors.  Kevin was able to get a 10-22 Enhanced Receiver as
well as a Yukon Electric Blue Extreme Stock.  He has already acquired his barrel so all he has to do is assemble his
rifle and then he says he is going to start saving his pennies to get the suppressor to go on it next year.  Something
about putting the horse before the cart........ Thank you Maurice at Shooters Discount for working with Kevin to bring
his dream to life!!!

I want to thank God for his sweet mercy, my wife for support and help, Shooters Discount Inc, Christie & Christie 10-22
Accessories, and last but not least all the shooters that participated in my matches this year. Next year is going to be
even better with new twists and pop-up targets and some other things that I have in the back of my mind......

Thank you all from me (David) at Liberty Suppressors!
